"The Youth & Innovation Project aims to understand and amplify the positive social, environmental and economic impact young people, 15 to 25 years old, have on organizations, communities and systems."
We do this by:
- Conducting original research and publishing academic articles;
- Offering strategic and policy advice to business, government, philanthropic foundations, the academic community and civil society;
- Speaking to diverse audiences - both young people and those who work with and support them;
- Writing opinion pieces and offering commentary in the mainstream media; and
-
Writing a book titled Wired for Innovation: Releasing the untapped potential of young people (anticipated release date 2024).
Participation in Cannexus Conference
On January 30th, 2024, our Managing Director, Ilona Dougherty, along with our Research Manager, Valentina Castillo, shared some of the preliminary results from our RBC Future Launch Longitudinal Study. The presentation was followed by a panel of young people sharing their perspectives on youth employment. We thank the young panellists Ameen Abdo, Emmanuel Antonin, and Emma Cognet, for sharing their enriching experiences. We also extend our gratitude to Kate Gatto, Farahnaaz Kanji, and the whole Future Launch team for their ongoing support and commitment to this work!
Acknowledgment of traditional territory
We acknowledge that the Youth & Innovation Project is located on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishnaabeg and Haudenosaunee people.
